Rise of Legion Privacy Notice

The Legion Website Privacy Notice (“Privacy Notice”) describes: (i) how Lenovo collects, uses, stores or otherwise processes an individual's personal data in the context of the legion.lenovo.com (''Legion Website''); (ii) describes the data sharing relationship between Lenovo, Beyond Godlike Co., Ltd. and  Amazon Web Services.

In this privacy notice, “Lenovo”, "we" or "us" refers to Lenovo Group Ltd and its affiliated group companies. Lenovo will process your personal data as a data controller of your personal information

This Privacy Notice governs the relationship between you and Lenovo, and the specific personal data processing activities conducted in connection with Legion Website. Such privacy notice includes among others, a description of your data protection rights and how you can exercise them, how we may share your personal information.

What personal data does the Legion Website process?

Please be aware that personal data means any information which is related to an identified or identifiable natural person.

When you choose to register, create a Legion account, or subscribe to our mailing list, Lenovo requires you to provide certain types of personal data, as described in the table below for the purpose of providing our service and enabling all available features to the Legion Website users. We will also use Amazon Web Services for the purpose of storing your information securely, for which we require information security best practices to be maintained. Using Amazon Web Services also allows us to keep your personal data stored locally so we do not have to transfer it across borders. Tinitech Sdn Bhd (Company Registration Number 1303390-T) and SUPER FK PTE. LTD. (Company Registration Number – 202012602H) are assigned data controllers and processors, respectively.. Both partners will not have access to your personal identifiable data and no information is transferred to other third-party partners without your explicit knowledge or consent.

The details below describe the types of personal data that will be processed.

1. First Name, Last Name, Email Address
   • Source of the data: Directly from you, when creating an account on Legion Website, subscribing to the mailing list or participating in a promotion.
   • Legal Basis:
     • Contract performance
     • Legitimate interest
     • If you are outside EU, consent.
   • Purpose:
     • To enable individuals to create an account.
     • For user authentication and identification.
     • For autofill of promotion submissions.
     • For verification of submissions for promotions.
     • For subscription to future marketing materials.
     • For participating in giveaways and contests.
2. Non-Specific Geographic Location
   • Source of data: Collected automatically through IP for language and localization settings
   • Legal Basis:
     • Contract performance
     • Legitimate interest
     • If you are outside EU, consent.
   • Purpose:
     • To redirect users to the correct market’s page. We do not share this information with anyone.
3. Usage data
   • Source of the data: From the website
   • Legal Basis:
     • Contract performance
     • Legitimate interest
     • If you are outside EU, consent.
   • Purpose:
     • To understand how to improve our product, we process how you use the Legion Website.
     • We do not share this information.
4. Data required for promotional purposes such as Images of Invoices (and its contents), Contact Details (address, phone number), Serial Number of the purchased product, and MTM of the purchased product *Please note that this relates to promotions where you submit a legitimate copy of your purchase invoice of an eligible purchase to receive a bundled digital, physical, promotional product or enter a contest or giveaway.  
   • Source of the data: Directly from you when you voluntarily submit the information in a specific form in the promotions segment
   • Legal Basis:
     • Contract performance
     • Legitimate interest
     • If you are outside EU, consent.
   • Purpose
     • Photos of proof of purchase is used for redemption verification
     • Proof of purchase is shared with partners sponsoring the product/item and stored as proof of execution.
     • Ensure successful completion of the fulfilment process – e.g delivery, in store pick-up of a promotion.
   * As part of the Proof of Execution with our alliance partners (such as but not limited to Intel, Microsoft, Nvidia, and AMD) – it is required that we share proof of the activity with them, which may include a list of images that you submit for auditing purposes - It is otherwise not shared to them directly for any reason outside of an official audit. No personal identifiable information from your submission is shared and visible information in your submissions will only be reviewed when necessary during the audit process.
   * Parts of your information may be shared with partners fulfilling the delivery and handling of products and items to you as part of the promotion and will NOT be used for other purposes.
5. MTM part number, Warranty eligibility, component details

• • Source of data: Connected systems integrated within Lenovo.
  • Purpose
    • For verification of submissions for promotions.
    • No personal data is used, transferred, or transmitted in any way outside of Lenovo systems.

Do we transfer data internationally?

As a global organization, we transfer your data to countries where we do business. For more details, please refer to the section “Does Lenovo transfer my personal information internationally?” in the Lenovo Global Website Privacy Statement.

Do we use cookies?

Yes, we use cookies in order to ensure proper functioning of the product. Cookies are generally small text files that are placed on your devices. They are widely used in order to make websites and devices work properly, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site, device, etc.

We also use google analytics and google tag manager for purposes related to the obtention of insights of both performance and behaviour insights.

How long do we keep your information?

We will only retain your personal information if necessary to achieve proper performance of the site. In some cases, we may need to retain your personal data when it is required by law. In relation to the information we process about you within the context of the Legion Website, personal data will be deleted when: 1) you request your account to be deleted, 2) you request the privacy team to delete your personal data, 3) 15-days after completion of an audit. Please note that if you request deletion of personal data and/or account, this means your user profile will be deleted permanently and you will no longer be able to use the Legion Website with your user profile.

Your Privacy Rights

You are allowed to directly edit, correct, and delete your account in the user profile page. To delete your account, click [Account Settings] and then the button [Delete This Account]. Once you confirmed the request for account deletion, the account will be deleted from the database permanently. Changes to this Privacy Notice

We might review and update this privacy notice for the purpose of improving the way in which we communicate all relevant information regarding the use of your personal data. Our mission is to be as transparent as possible.

We will also update this privacy notice to let you know about any changes in the way the product, or Lenovo process your personal data and ask you if you are happy with those changes, when necessary, by law. We may e-mail you to make sure you are up to date with such changes.
