Paladins Epic Pack and Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse Are Free on the Epic Games Store

Source: Epic (L) and Wideload Games (R)

From today until October 21, the Epic Games Store is offering two games that you can add to your library with absolutely no cost. These games are the Epic Pack Edition of Hi-Rez Studios’s online class-based hero shooter, Paladins: Champions of the Realm and Wideload Games’ third-person action game, Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse.

While Paladins is a free-to-play game, you will be receiving the Epic Pack which instantly gives you access to four champions, Androxus, Raum, Tyra and Ying. On top of that, you will receive a skin for each champion, namely Exalted Androxus (Rare), Subjugator Raum (Uncommon), Baroness Tyra (Rare), and Snapdragon Ying (Rare).

Released in 2018, Paladins pits two teams of five players in fast-paced goal-based combat. There are currently four different gameplay modes in Paladin that include Siege, where players are tasked to capture the map’s central capture point and push a payload to the enemy base;  Onslaught, players will earn points by taking over control points; Team Deathmatch and Ranked.

There are over 50 champions for you to choose from and each features their own weapons, skills and fighting styles. Champions can also be further customised and personalised with the game’s card and skin system.

Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse was originally released in 2005 and re-released in March 2021. Unlike most games where you are tasked to eradicate zombies, in this game, you play as the zombie, namely Stubbs. Before he became a zombie, Edward “Stubbs” Stubblefield was a down-on-his-luck travelling salesman who finds temporary happiness with a girl named Maggie Monday, unfortunately, he is murdered by her father who dumps Stubbs body in the wilderness.

In 1959, 26 years after his murder, Stubbs rises from the grave to cause chaos in the retro-futuristic city of Punchbowl, Pennsylvania. As Stubbs, you will chomp on the living and replenish your arsenal of zombie sputum, gut grenades and unholy flatulence. Like any zombie worth his salt, you will also build your horde by converting enemies into undead allies to bring civilization to its knees. Sometimes, zombies also need a friend, so be sure to invite a partner to play as Grubbs for some couch co-op fun.

Back 4 Blood Brings Back the Thrill of Hunting the Undead with Friends

Turtle Rock Studios, creators of the Left 4 Dead franchise has just released its spiritual successor, Back 4 Blood for the PC and you can now purchase it on Steam, the Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store.

Much like Left 4 Dead, Back 4 Blood is a first-person cooperative zombie shooter that features a dynamic co-op campaign with thrilling moment-to-moment gameplay and near-endless replayability with up to four friends online. The game also features a unique take on competitive, team-based strategy through the game’s PvP (Player vs. Player) Swarm mode.

Back 4 Blood takes place after a catastrophic outbreak where most of humanity has either been killed or infected by a parasitic Devil Worm. You and your friends can choose and play as one of the eight apocalypse veterans called Cleaners, a group of spirited zombie slayers, as you take on the infected horrors known as the Ridden in an effort to reclaim the world.  Each Cleaner has their own in-game perks and secondary weapon to complement their distinct personalities and your playstyle.

To ensure that each gameplay session feels unique, Turtle Rock has introduced an innovative Card System, a new rogue-lite component that enables you to combat the adaptive A.I. known as the Game Director, which monitors actions by adding obstacles such as special Ridden mutations through Card System modifiers known as Corruption Cards. You can change up the gameplay by utilising specific cards to strategise against the Game Director, from amplifying equipment to reloading weapons, as they take on hordes of enemies in their path.

In the PvP Swarm Mode, two squads of four face off against each other in a best-of-three series of rounds as teams swap between playing as the Cleaners and the Ridden. Points are then awarded based on how long the Cleaners can stay alive and endure Ridden attacks, with the team that clocks the most time winning the match. While playing from the Ridden perspective, gamers can choose from nine Ridden types from towering Tallboys to grotesque Ogres and ravenous Hags, each with different characteristics that can be upgraded with enhancements called mutations and then used collectively to aid the team and help turn the tide as the match progresses.

You can purchase Back 4 Blood in its Standard Edition or the digital-only Deluxe Edition that includes the base game and Annual Pass for the three upcoming DLCs. Finally, there is also the Ultimate Edition that has the base game, Annual Pass, Four-Character Battle Hardened Skin Pack and additional digital in-game items such as a Rare Banner, Spray, Emblem and Title.

NARAKA: BLADEPOINT Invites You to Participate in Bloodsport

Source: 24 Entertainment

24 Entertainment has introduced a new game mode to its 60-player action combat battle-royale game, NARAKA: BLADEPOINT.  In this new mode, instead of trying to eliminate the other players on the map, you have to hone your skills in a brand new 1v1 mode. Inspired by the 1988 movie ‘Bloodsport’, which starred Jean-Claude Van Damme, combatants will fight to the death using only melee combat. In a ring with 16 other players, you will have to win every single 1v1 match in order to reach the finals.

However, there is a catch. You are not allowed to use the same hero or weapon for every round. Before a round starts, you will pick a new hero and weapon. So, you will have to rely on your skills to take you to the very last round, which will be the best of three.

Other rules include a time limit of 75 seconds per round, this means you will want to do as inflict as much punishment as possible on your opponent. There is also an increased melee resistance, meaning fights will feel tougher and more action-packed. Normal abilities are available but ultimates are disabled.

You can purchase NARAKA: BLADEPOINT from Steam or the Epic Games Store.
