theHunter series by Avalanche Studios and THQ Nordic has become something of a cult hit among digital hunters all over the world. This week you can try it out for yourself to see what the hype is all about as the Epic Games Store is offering theHunter: Call of the Wild for free from today until December 3. Click here to add it to your game library.

In theHunter: Call of the Wild, you will find yourself traversing an open world that is lush and incredibly lifelike to search for your next prized hunt. The world is teeming with life, from true-to-life animals to the rustling of leaves. Speaking of animals, they are also designed to be as realistic as possible and you will have to learn about their authentic behaviours, traits and movement patterns to better pursue them.

Once you have found them, you will then have to assess the value of your target through aspects such as the size and symmetry of a red deer’s antlers or the weight and unique plumage of a Canadian goose, to determine if the animal if it is worth shooting.

Each hunt you go on will also be unique as you can choose to use equipment such as rifles or bows, each one ideal for different sized animals. You will also have to practice your aim to account for wind and bullet drop. To further aid you in your hunt, you will also have access to callers and scents to lure your target towards you.

Last but not least, you can also collaborate or compete with friends in various challenges and hunting events. On top of that, you can also visit and hunt in DLC reserves by joining up with a friend who already owns the DLC.

WRC 10’s second free update includes a new car, rallies and difficulty mode

Just three months after its official release, WRC 10, the official FIA World Rally Championship video game by NACON and KT Racing is receiving its second free update, which brings new content such as three special stages for the Acropolis Rally, five new anniversary events and a new realistic mode to “Club” mode.

The Acropolis Rally is a scenic yet challenging course set in Greece as it takes place through winding and dusty mountain rounds and sometimes on cliff sides. While this course is already present in the game, the update adds three special stages for you to experience and enjoy in the game’s Career mode.

Adding on to the three historical events added in the previous update released in October comes five new events where you can play as famous driver and co-driver duos in their famous cars during that time period, these include Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena in their Citroën Xsara WRC during Rally Germany in 2002, Richard Burns and Robert Reid in their Subaru Impreza S5 WRC '99 during the Safari Rally in Kenya in 2000 and more.

Last but not least, in “Club” mode, which allows players to create their own online events and championships, there is now the option to play in “Realistic” mode that adds an extra layer of challenge to the game. This mode allows you to carry over damage inflicted on the vehicle to the next stage, to place one or more service parks (and to impose a mandatory passage to a service park in order to equip the car with appropriate tyres when the road surface changes between two stages), and finally, the stages are played in one shot and cannot be replayed.

You can purchase WRC 10 purchase on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
